Amazon is the largest private employer in the city of Seattle.  In Seattle, about 15% of their employees live in the Denny Triangle area and about 20% walk to work.

They've made a long-term commitment to invest in the city of Seattle. Several years ago they outgrew their space and made a conscious choice to invest in the heart of Seattle—even though it would have been cheaper to move to the suburbs. Amazon employs more than 20,000 people in town, and that's not including the men and women whose businesses have grown from their presence in Seattle.

Today, South Lake Union is bustling—there are dozens of restaurants, cafes and startups dotting the neighborhood. With even more to come in the Denny Triangle neighborhood, a few blocks south of South Lake Union.

Amazon is proud to invest in Seattle — sponsoring events like the annual 4th of July fireworks over Lake Union, purchasing and funding operations of an additional streetcar.
